Law money 01

MIAMI – A Broward County woman alleges her Fort Lauderdale employers discriminated against her because of her pregnancy.

Ingrid Jean Baptiste filed a complaint on March 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Avis Budget Group Inc., and AB Car Rental Services Inc. citing the Civil Rights Act and the Florida Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, she suffered damages from having her working hours reduced after going on a Family and Medical Leave Act protected leave due to her pregnancy. The plaintiff holds Avis Budget Group Inc. and AB Car Rental Services Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly retaliated against the plaintiff by significantly reducing her working hours after she returned from her leave.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, lost wages and benefits, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Jacob Auerbach of Gallup Auerbach in Hollywood.
