Mother claims Disney Cruise Line did not warn of bathroom's hazardous condition

Cruise 06

ORLANDO A Yulee mother and her minor child have filed a suit against Disney Cruise Line after the child was injured in a bathroom on the Disney Dream cruise ship, alleging the company failed to maintain the ship in a safe condition.

T.R. a minor by and through his natural parent and legal guardian Alicia Rowland, filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Magical Cruise Co. Limited, doing business as Disney Cruise Line, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in March 3, 2016, T.R. sustained physical injuries when he tripped and fell in the bathroom in a stateroom, hitting his cheek on sharp metal stripping on the side of a tub. The plaintiff holds Magical Cruise Co. Limited responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn T.R. regarding the hazardous condition of the bathroom and failed to keep it in a safe condition for passengers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Mark R. Hanson of Tomberg, Hanson & Halper LLC in Delray Beach.
