Trademark 04

MIAMI – Chanel alleges several online websites are selling counterfeit versions of its products.

Chanel Inc. filed a complaint on March 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against chanelbagt.com, 7buyperfectbag.net, 7perfectshoes.com, et al. alleging trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business and reputation. The plaintiff seeks to enjoin the defendants, transfer all domains being used by the defendants to the plaintiff, pay damages and profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages of $2 million per each counterfeit mark, treble damages, statutory damages of $100,000 per cybersquatted domain, all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Gaffigan, Virgilio Gigante and T. Raquel Rodriguez-Albizu of Stephen M. Gaffigan PA in Fort Lauderdale.
