Man alleges Life Insurance Co. of North American wrongfully denied benefits

Insurance 06

PENSACOLA – An Escambia County resident alleges his claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

James Duncan filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida against Life Insurance Co. of North America alleging that the insurance firm denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, he suffered damages from being having his application of disability benefits denied. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to review plaintiff's appeal and still upheld its decision to deny his disability benefits.

The plaintiff seeks all plan benefits owing, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Kimberly A. Corkill and Daniel M. Soloway of Soloway Law Firm in Pensacola.
