Panama City's water distribution equipment infringes patent, Atlas IP claims

Patents 07

FORT LAUDERDALE – Panama City is alleged to have infringed a patent with its use of water distribution equipment.

Atlas IP LLC filed a complaint on Jan. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Panama City alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its '734 patent, titled Medium Access Control Protocol for Wireless Network, infringed. The plaintiff holds Panama City responsible because the defendant allegedly installed its base FlexNet base stations and iPerl Meters and water distribution equipment, which infringes at least one claim of plaintiff's '734 patent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, pay supplemental damages, interest, and any further relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Michael C. Cesarano of Michael C. Cesarano PA in Coral Gables.
