Man alleges Metropolitan Life used unreasonable claims process for disability benefits

TAMPA – A man is seeking reinstatement of his long-term disability benefits.

Sean Robinson filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the Tampa Division for the Middle District of Florida against Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from having his claim for long-term disability benefits denied. The plaintiff holds Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected him to an unreasonable claims process.

The plaintiff seeks reinstatement of plan benefits, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by William S. Coffman Jr. of Coffman Law in Tampa.
