Law money 03

FORT MYERS – A Charlotte County man alleges his former Punta Gorda employer did not properly compensate for overtime work.

David Hill filed a complaint individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated on Jan. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division against Aero-Marine Technologies Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was not paid proper overtime wages by the defendant at the statutory rate of one-and-a-half his regular pay for hours worked over 40 during a week. The plaintiffs hold Aero-Marine Technologies Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff of his right to receive wages for every hour worked, and showed reckless disregard of the provisions of the FLSA concerning overtime wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs and expenses of litigation, interest and further relief the court deems just. He is represented by Jason L. Gunter of Jason L. Gunter PA in Fort Myers.
