JACKSONVILLE — A Jacksonville man is suing the United States of America, citing alleged negligence.
Robert Bell filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against the government alleging that he suffered from life-threatening injuries, pain and suffering because of its negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 10, 2014, he sustained bodily injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, loss of earnings and medical expenses after Michelle Lea Traina, a United States Postal Service employee, rear-ended the plaintiff's vehicle. Traina was driving a Postal Service vehicle. The plaintiff holds United States of America responsible because it allegedly failed to take actions to reduce, minimize or eliminate foreseeable risks and failed to properly supervise its employees so as not to cause harm.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, damages, costs of action, interest and further relief as the court may deem just. He is represented by Eric S. Block of Law Offices of Eric S. Block PLLC in Jacksonville.
