MIAMI — A former employee is suing Charlotte Bakery Inc. and Michelle Coleman, alleging that the employers violated wage laws.
Esther Gonzalez filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay her fair wages.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation or minimum wage. The plaintiff holds Charlotte Bakery Inc., and Michelle Coleman responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for working more than 40 hours per week and failed to pay an amount that reached the minimum-wage level for the total hours she worked.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Robert W. Brock II of Law Office of Lowell J. Kuvin in Miami.
