Aspen National Collections accused of improper collection attempts

TAMPA — A woman is suing Aspen National Financial Inc. d/b/a Aspen National Collections, a debt collector , citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Samantha Francescutti filed a complaint on Feb. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Aspen National Financial, Inc. d/b/a Aspen National Collections alleging that the debt collector called the plaintiff several times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that starting in December 2014, she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls. The plaintiff holds Aspen National Financial Inc. d/b/a Aspen National Collections responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system despite her request to stop calling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, actual damages, all legal fees, and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Michael A. Ziegler of Law Office of Michael A. Ziegler, P.L. in Clearwater.
