Insurance 07

ORLANDO — A woman is suing Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company, alleging breach of contract.

Janette Destefano filed a complaint on Feb. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida Orlando Division against Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company, alleging that the insurance firm denied the plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from being denied disability benefits. The plaintiff holds Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay the plaintiff disability benefits despite her disability according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks payment of all disability benefits owed, reinstatement, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Gregory D. Swartwood of The Nation Law Firm, LLP in Longwood.
