Law money 09

FORT LAUDERDALE — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against employers Miami Striping, Inc. and Franky Y. Rivera, alleging violation of wage laws.

Alexander Sanchez filed a complaint on Feb. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants alleging that they failed to pay fair wages to the plaintiff for his work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015 and 2016, he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks double damages, all legal fees, all overtime wages still owing, and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by James Loren of Goldberg & Loren, P.A. in Plantation.
