FORT LAUDERDALE — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against employers Grande Pizza Co., Salvatore Amico and Joseph M. Lay, alleging violation of wage laws and retaliation.

Stephen Eric Maxwell filed a complaint on behalf of all other similarly situated on Feb. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay him fair wages.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from not being paid minimum wage. The plaintiff holds Grande Pizza Co., Salvatore Amico and Joseph M. Lay responsible because the defendants allegedly underpaid him and terminated his employment as retaliation for complaining about not being paid fair wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, liquidated damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Daniel T. Feld of Law Office of Daniel T. Feld, P.A. in Hollywood and Isaac Mamane of Mamane Law LLC in Bay Harbor Islands.
