Woman blames Target Corporation for fall injuries

Slip02

KISSIMMEE — A customer is suing Target Corporation alleging breach of duty, negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Michele Narze filed a complaint on Jan. 23, in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court against Target Corporation, alleging retail store breached its duty to customers in caring for and maintaining its property.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 12, as she walked towards the defendant's entrance door, she stepped on an uneven transition area in the lot, which caused her ankle to buckle, leading her to fall and severely injure herself. The plaintiff holds Target Corporation responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to use reasonable care in maintaining its premises in a safe condition, failed to warn consumers of any dangerous, latent conditions it knew of or should have known of, and breached its duty to conduct proper inspections to avoid harming any individual.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages and costs of this suit. She is represented by Kevin A. Brown of Farah and Farah PA in Jacksonville.
