Man seeks reinstatement of disability benefits from Hartford Life

Insurance 10

FORT LAUDERDALE – A man alleges his claim for disability benefits was wrongfully terminated.

Christian Varner filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Co. citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, he became disabled and was initially approved to receive disability benefits until his claim was terminated in March 2016. The plaintiff holds Hartford Life and Accident Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly and adequately investigate the merits of his claim.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due to the plaintiff, reinstatement, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Stephen F. Jessup of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer, Chartered in Hollywood.
