Law money 05

TAMPA – A laborer for a Hillsborough County employer alleges she was not paid for all hours worked.

Latasha Covington filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on Jan. 19 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Zenith Education Group Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation during her employment from August 2013 to December 2016. The plaintiff holds Zenith Education Group Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeded 40 and failed to keep accurate time records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks payment of all hours not paid, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Kyle J. Lee of Lee Law, PLLC in Brandon.
