MIAMI – A former salesperson alleges she was not paid a minimum wage by her employer.
Claudia Morina Bravo filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Fajas Depot LLC and Margarita Echemendia citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendants for two periods in 2014 and 2015. The plaintiff holds Fajas Depot LLC and Echemendia responsible because the defendants allegedly withheld plaintiff's wages and despite allowing the plaintiff to work for more than 40 hours, failed to pay her an overtime premium and failed to pay a minimum wage.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, payment of all overtime hours and regular wages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Lowell J. Kuvin in Miami.
