FORT LAUDERDALE – A Fort Lauderdale man alleges he was not paid the required rate for overtime work during his employment as an air conditional technician.
Jason Rooney filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against USA Air Duct Cleaners LLC and Doron Ziv citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked 10 to 14 hours a day, six days a week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds USA Air Duct Cleaners LLC and Ziv responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours per week.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Roderick V. Hannah in Plantation.
