Woman blames Carnival Cruise Line for injuries

Cruise 06

MIAMI — A passenger is suing Carnival Corporation, d/b/a Carnival Cruise Line, a cruise ship company, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Angela Moore filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corporation, d/b/a Carnival Cruise Line, alleging that the cruise ship company failed to make sure that a bathroom used by its disabled passengers was free from any hazard that could cause an injury.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 30, she suffered injuries to her neck, back and arm when her foot got caught in a bent drain or grate found in the middle of the bathroom of her cabin. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corporation, d/b/a Carnival Cruise Line, responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed the hazardous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, medical expenses, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Spencer Aronfeld, Lovecia A. Holmes and Matthias M. Hayashi of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
