Sonic employee alleges he is not being paid the minimum wage

MIAMI – A Hollywood man alleges a Hialeah Gardens restaurant violated wage laws.

Lazaro Pons filed a complaint on Jan. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against OKS Hialeah Gardens LLC, doing business as Sonic, and Arthur J. Halleran Jr. citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid minimum wages or any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds OKS Hialeah Gardens LLC, doing business as Sonic, and Halleran Jr. responsible because the defendants allegedly knowingly operated their business and did not pay wages in conformance with the law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all back wages due and owing, liquidated damages, order the defendant to pay $1,000 fine to the state of Florida for each willful violation, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Peter Bober and Samara Robbins Bober of Bober & Bober PA in Hollywood.
