TAMPA — A former senior systems administrator for Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc. is suing the company over allegations of age and sex discrimination.

Jozette Thomas filed a complaint on Dec. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc., alleging that the employer discriminated against her due to her sex and age.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she experienced discrimination during her employment. The plaintiff holds Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc. responsible for allegations of disparate treatment, harassment and violation of equal pay law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back pay and benefits, front pay, damages, compensatory damages, equitable damages, punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Derek P. Usman of The Usman Law Firm, P.A. in Tampa.
