Employee accuses restaurant of failing to play proper overtime wages

ORLANDO — An employee is suing a Brevard County restaurant, alleging unpaid overtime wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Jonathan Ramirez-Perez filed a lawsuit Dec. 13 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida Orlando Division against Amici's Family Restaurant Inc., doing business as Amici's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, alleging failure pay fair wages to the plaintiff in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, between October 2014 and May 2016, Ramirez-Perez worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid overtime compensation at time and a half as required by FLSA. 

Ramirez-Perez seeks trial by jury, unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Matthew R. Gunter of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
