Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston accused of incorrectly denying benefits

Insurance 04

OCALA — A man is suing Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston, an insurance firm, citing alleged breach of contract.

Michael L. May filed a complaint on Dec. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston, alleging that the insurance firm wrongly denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled and applied for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay the plaintiff any disability benefits despite his disability according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits, reinstatement, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Gregory D. Swartwood of The Nation Law Firm, LLP in Longwood.
