Duval County woman claims Navy Federal Credit Union made harassing robo-calls

TAMPA — A Duval County woman is suing Navy Federal Credit Union, a debt collector, citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Maria Mills filed a complaint on Dec. 13, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Navy Federal Credit Union alleging that the debt collector called the plaintiff several times.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in July, she suffered damages from being called several times. The plaintiff holds Navy Federal Credit Union responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Amy Ferrera of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa, P.A. in Tampa.
