MIAMI — A Florida man is suing a Michigan business, alleging misrepresentation in debt collection and violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Wilner Paulisca filed a lawsuit Dec. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Asset Acceptance LLC of Warren, Michigan, alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the FCCPA.

According to the complaint, Paulisca suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant in an attempt to collect an alleged debt. The plaintiff alleges the defendant used an automatic telephone dialing system to call Paulisca without his permission.

Paulisca seeks trial by jury, statutory damages of $1,500 for each violation, enjoining the defendant, attorney fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney George N. Andrews of Loan Lawyers LLC in Fort Lauderdale.
