Carlisos Construction accused of violating overtime law

FORT MYERS — A former employee is suing Carlisos Construction Inc. and Jose L. Cabrera, alleging that his former employer and boss violated wage law.

Thomas Maldonado filed a complaint on Dec. 5, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay fair wages to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid proper overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Carlisos Construction Inc., and Cabrera responsible for allegedly violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and interest, plus any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Peter Bober and Samara Bober of Bober & Bober, P.A. in Hollywood.
