MIAMI — A man is suing Standard Insurance Company, citing alleged breach of contract.
Clarence R. Cooley filed a complaint on Dec. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Standard Insurance Company alleging that the insurance firm denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2012, he became disabled and was initially being paid disability benefits until they were terminated. The plaintiff holds Standard Insurance Company responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated his benefits despite his continuing disability according to the terms of the plan.
The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Victor Pena and Gregory Michael Dell of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer Chartered in Hollywood.
