MIAMI — Gucci is suing competitors, alleging they are selling counterfeit copies of Gucci products.
Gucci America, Inc. filed a lawsuit Dec. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against The Individuals, Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations, alleging unfair competition and violation of the Lanham Act.
According to the complaint, Gucci America has suffered monetary damages because the defendants used online and retail stores to sell and distribute infringing copies of Gucci products.
Gucci America seeks to enjoin the defendants from further infringing the plaintiff's products, all profits and damages, statutory damages of $2 million per counterfeit trademark, statutory damages of $100,000 per cyber squatted domain, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief the court deems just.
