MIAMI — A woman has filed a class-action lawsuit against Primo Cafe & Market Inc. and Alejandro Marcarian, joint employers, citing alleged violations of wage laws.

Jacqueline E. Hernandez De Almodovar filed a complaint on Nov. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay in keeping with the law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was a non-exempt employee of the defendants, entitled to minimum and overtime wages, however, the defendants failed to pay the correct rates. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly violating the minimum-wage and overtime-pay laws.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in their favor, double damages, attorney's fees, court costs, interest and other relief that the court finds reasonable. They are represented by J.H. Zidell of J.H. Zidell PA in Miami Beach.
