MIAMI – A cashier for a gas station alleges she was terminated in retaliation.
Morad Yousif Kaleel filed a complaint on Nov. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Alkursi Inc. and Adnan Alwahadneh citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime wages. She alleges that she approached Alwahadneh about the issue in June and was terminated in July. The plaintiff holds Alkursi Inc. and Alwahadneh responsible because the defendants allegedly terminated her in retaliation for demanding that she be paid overtime.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back and front pay, lost benefits, liquidated damages, damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Elliot Kozolchyk of Koz Law PA in Fort Lauderdale.
