Law money 05

ORLANDO – An employee for two hotels in Orange and Seminole counties alleges she was not properly compensated for all hours worked.

Maritza Roman filed a complaint on behalf of other similarly situated on Nov. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against V.R.P. Holdings LLC and Vasant Patel citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation by the defendants. The plaintiff holds V.R.P. Holdings LLC and Patel responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reimbursement of wages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Kyle J. Lee of Lee Law PLLC in Brandon.
