Phone 01

TAMPA — A consumer is suing Suntrust Bank, a debt collector, citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Sabine Niehaus filed a complaint on Nov. 9, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Suntrust Bank alleging that the debt collector called plaintiff several times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from being called several times on her cellular telephone. The plaintiff holds Suntrust Bank responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call plaintiff's cellular telephone.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500, increase the award to an amount equal to three times, and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Christopher W. Boss of Boss Law in St. Petersburg.
