WEST PALM BEACH – A former employee for a Boca Raton lumber yard alleges he was not properly paid for overtime work.
Rentz Kolva filed a complaint on Nov. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, West Palm Beach Division against Jones Lumber - US LBM LLC, MRJ Holdings Inc., Terry L. Smith and Mark R. Jones citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Jones Lumber - US LBM LLC, MRJ Holdings Inc., Smith and Jones responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Mitchell L. Feldman in Lutz.
