M.I. Courier Services accused of violating overtime law

MIAMI — A man has filed a class-action lawsuit against former employers M.I. Courier Services Inc., a/k/a M.I. Courier Services Inc. of New York, and Julius C. Gotay, alleging violation of wage laws.

Jeffrey Rios filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay fair wages to him.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked more than 40 hours a week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to pay a proper overtime premium.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Daniel T.
