MIAMI — A man is suing former employers Reta Ocean Drive LLC, IL Giardin LLC, Refik Cevik, Imam Duz and Tacettin Yildirim, alleging violation of wage laws.
Cihangir Kucuk filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants underpaid him in various ways, such as failing to pay minimum wage, improperly applying a tip credit and employing him in a position where the entirety of his compensation came from tips. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for the various allegations of wage-law violations.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory wages, liquidated damages, interest, benefits, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief this court deems just. He is represented by Brian H. Pollock of Fairlaw Firm in Miami.
