MIAMI — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Romero Brothers Lumper Services LLC and Richard A. Romero, alleging violation of wage laws.

Carlos Rodriguez filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay fair compensation to him.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Romero Brothers Lumper Services LLC and Richard A. Romero responsible because the defendants allegedly refused to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium in keeping with the law.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, minimum wages owing, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Daniel T. Feld of Law Office of Daniel T. Feld, P.A in Hollywood and Isaac Mamane of Mamane Law LLC in Bay Harbor Islands.
