Carnival Corp. accused of maintaining a slippery surface that led to a broken wrist

Cruise 06

FLORIDA — A passenger is suing Carnival Corp., a cruise ship company, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and negligence.

Rael Rodriguez filed a complaint on Nov. 2, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp. alleging that the cruise ship company failed to keep the floor of their vessel free from any slippery substance.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, on Nov. 30, 2015, he sustained physical injuries including a fractured wrist. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning regarding the hazardous condition of the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Carol L. Finklehoffe of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman, P.A. in Miami.
