Aetna Life accused of wrongfully denying woman's claim for disability benefits

Insurance 01

MIAMI – A former employee of Canton Potsdam Hospital alleges she is disabled but her claim for benefits was wrongfully denied.

Deborah Tetrault filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Aetna Life Insurance Co. alleging that the insurance firm denied plaintiff's claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, she became disabled and made a claim for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Aetna Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's application for disability benefits despite being disabled according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks payment of all disability benefits due to plaintiff, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest plus and other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Alexander A. Palamara and Gregory Michael Dell of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer, Chartered in Hollywood.
