Credit One Bank accused of not following law on telephone calls

MIAMI — A man is suing Credit One Financial, d/b/a Credit One Bank, a financial institution, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Mackinson Hyppolite filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Credit One Financial, d/b/a Credit One Bank, alleging that the financial institution improperly called the plaintiff's cellular telephone several times.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from receiving numerous automated calls on his cellular telephone. The plaintiff holds the defendant for allegedly using an automatic telephone dialing system to call his cellular telephone.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, treble damages, and any other relief this court deems just. He is represented by Stan Michael Maslona of Lemberg Law, LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
