MIAMI — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Nido Caffe 110, d/b/a Ni.Do. Caffe & Mozzarella Bar, and Daian Escalante, alleging violation of wage laws.

Santos Martinez, a/k/a Santos Martinez Najarro, filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging failure to properly compensate him for his work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks double damages, all overtime wages still owing, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief this court deems just. He is represented by J.H. Zidell of J.H. Zidell, P.A. in Miami Beach.
