MIAMI — A woman is suing Pennymac Loan Services LLC, a debt collector, citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Cynthia Jacobs filed a complaint on Oct. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Pennymac Loan Services LLC, alleging that the debt collector improperly called her on her cellular phone in an attempt to collect an alleged debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls. The plaintiff holds Pennymac Loan Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call her cellular phone.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $1,500 for each and every violation, all legal fees and any other relief this court deems just. She is represented by George N. Andrews of Loan Lawyers, LLC in Fort Lauderdale.
