Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino sued for unpaid overtime wages

FLORIDA — An employee is suing Gulfstream Park Racing Association, Inc. d/b/a Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino, an employer, citing alleged unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law, and violation of workers compensation acts.

Bryce Phuong filed a complaint on Oct. 27, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Gulfstream Park Racing Association, Inc. d/b/a Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino alleging that the employer failed to fairly compensate plaintiff for his work.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours without being paid minimum wages or any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Gulfstream Park Racing Association, Inc. d/b/a Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay plaintiff any overtime premium for hours worked that exceeds 40 hours.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Christopher J. Whitelock of Whitelock & Associates, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale.
