Law money 09

MIAMI – A registered nurse alleges her Monroe County employer did not pay overtime wages and has filed a class action suit.

Anne Swanson filed a complaint on behalf of all similarly situated individuals on Oct. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Armor Correctional Health Services Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and unjust enrichment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation from October 2010 to November 2014. The plaintiff holds Armor Correctional Health Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular rate of time for the extra hours worked.

The plaintiff seeks payment for all unpaid hours, overtime hours worked and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Carlos V. Leach of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
