Fendi accuses AliExpress sellers of offering counterfeit products

MIAMI – An Italian luxury goods company alleges counterfeit versions of its products are being sold online.

Fendi Adele, S.R.L. filed a complaint on Oct. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the chengzhanqiang, China YK Trade co. LTD, Clever life, et al. alleging trademark infringement and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Fendi Adele, S.R.L. suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly sold counterfeit Fendi products online on AliExpress.com, which it alleges will cause confusion among consumers.

The plaintiff seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's trademark, award plaintiff all profits and damages sustained, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Gaffigan, Virgilio Gigante, Christine Ann Daley and T. Raquel Rodriguez-Albizu of Stephen M. Gaffigan PA in Fort Lauderdale.
