Former M&K Wireless Inc. sales rep alleges she was not paid for all hours worked

Law money 08

FORT MYERS – A former employee for a cellular store alleges she was only paid for half of the hours she actually worked per week.

Jennifer Venancio filed a complaint on Oct. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division against M&K Wireless Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that from Jan. 15, 2015, through Feb. 3, she worked for the defendant as a sales representative. She alleges she made $8.50 per hour and worked an average of 50 hours per week, but was only compensated for 25 hours of work per week.

The plaintiff holds M&K Wireless Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to tender payment of minimum and overtime wages owed to plaintiff and failed to fulfill its obligation to pay plaintiff for all hours performed.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for unpaid wages, interest, attorney' fees, costs and other remedies as the court deems just. She is represented by James M. Loren of Goldberg & Loren PA in Plantation.
