Woman alleges object left on floor caused fall on Carnival ship

Cruise 08

MIAMI – A Louisiana woman claims she was injured while aboard a cruise ship because of an object left in a hallway.

Wanda Balsamo filed a complaint on Oct. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 4, she sustained physical injuries from slipping and falling on an object left on the floor of the Carnival Dream's dining room hallway. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning to its passengers regarding any hazardous object left on the floor.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than of $75,000 plus interest, legal fees and any other relief this court deems just. She is represented by Garrett Biondo of The Biondo Law Firm PA in Miami.
