Passenger alleges dangerous conditions of stairs on Carnival ship caused her to fall

Cruise 02

MIAMI – A Louisiana woman claims she injured her leg while traveling on a cruise ship.

Jesstina Allen filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 12, 2015, she sustained physical injuries when she tripped and fell while walking down the stairs causing a torn mediate cruciate ligament in her left leg. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning to its passengers regarding the purportedly hazardous condition of the stairs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000 plus interest and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Michael C. Black of Cassidy & Black PA in Miami.
