MIAMI – A woman alleges she was not properly compensated for working overtime hours while employed as a senior claims representative.
Angelica Chirino filed a complaint on Oct. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Farmer's Insurance Group and 21st Century Security Insurance Co. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2013 and 2014, she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Farmer's Insurance Group and 21st Century Security Insurance Co. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half to plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.
The plaintiff seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief this court deems just. She is represented by Michael A. Hoffman in Hollywood.
