SARASOTA – A man alleges he was injured in an accident on Kestral Parkway in Sarasota County.
Harry J. Barnoff filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Sarasota County against Cincinnati Insurance Co. alleging that the insurer breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he owned and maintained an uninsured/underinsured motorist policy of insurance from the defendant at that time of an accident on Sept. 16, 2012, when Phyllis B. Slivken struck his vehicle. As a result, plaintiff alleges he was greatly handicapped and suffered from bodily harm, inability to lead a normal life, physical and mental pain and aggravation of a previously existing condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant of more than $15,000 as compensatory damages, costs of action and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Catherine B. Bowles of Sardelis and Bowles LLP in Sarasota.
