MIAMI – A customer relations employee alleges a Miami-Dade County business did not pay employees overtime.

Julio Bermudez filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Global Cargo Corp. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Global Cargo Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half to plaintiff for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Michael A. Hoffman in Hollywood.
